Bryony Torch Alabaster Brass Wall Lamp

The Bryony Torch Alabaster Brass Wall Lamp stands a slim hammered brass rod upright against the wall, capped at the top with a short cylinder of natural alabaster that holds the light. The stone sits where a flame would, so the fixture reads as a torch rather than a lamp with a shade attached.

Choose a single fixture for a focused accent, or a Set of 2 to frame a bed, mirror, or entryway. A Set of 2 includes two complete lights, individually packaged and shipped together in one order.

Worth Noting

Where does this one differ?

The brass is worked with an irregular hammered texture down its full length, catching light along every dent and ridge, while a rippled backplate holds the rod off the wall at mid-height. At 22″ tall and only 4.3″ wide, it fills a narrow wall vertically where a horizontal fixture won't fit — a stair run, a doorway flank, a corridor. Finished in gold brass with white alabaster and an integrated LED, for hardwired wall installation.

The Fit

Where It Belongs

Tall and Narrow, for the Walls Nothing Else Fits

Bryony Torch Alabaster Brass Wall Lamp mounted beside a bed on a narrow stretch of wall

On the Strip of Wall Beside the Bed, Where a Shade Would Never Go

Twenty-two inches tall and just over four wide — it takes the vertical instead of the horizontal, which is why it works on a slice of wall between a window frame and a headboard. The stone cap sits high, above eye level when you're seated, so the light reaches down over the bed without anything bright in the sightline. Below it the brass runs the full drop, catching the glow along its length so the whole fixture is lit, not only the top.

Where the height does the work

Stair Run

H 22″ × W 4.3″

Mounted along a rising wall where a wide fixture would look wrong against the diagonal. The vertical line sits square to the floor no matter what the stair is doing, and a run of two or three marks the climb without lighting the whole flight.

Doorway & Entry Flank

4.3″ wide · hardwired

The narrow strip beside a door frame is usually left empty because nothing fits it. One each side turns that gap into symmetry, and the torch shape reads as architecture rather than as a light stuck on the wall.

Corridor, Bedside & Between Windows

H 22″ × W 4.3″ · integrated LED · gold brass, white alabaster

Anywhere the wall is taller than it is wide. In a corridor a row of them lights the passage from above shoulder height, keeping the floor clear and the walls warm; beside a bed a pair frees both nightstands entirely; between two windows it fills the pier without competing with the frames. The alabaster is what keeps it soft at close range — the source sits inside the stone rather than behind a diffuser, so from a few feet away there is a glowing cap and a lit brass line, and nothing you have to look away from.

The Torch

Read from the Top Down

The stone sits where a flame would — everything below it is the handle

Bryony Torch Alabaster Brass Wall Lamp shown in three details — the lit alabaster cap, the textured brass rod, and the ridged backplate

01

The stone carries the light

A short cylinder of alabaster, lit from inside rather than from an opening — so it brightens toward the base and fades as it climbs, the way a flame sits low in its own glow. Nothing about it points at you. From a few feet away it is simply a warm shape at the top of a line.

02

The brass carries it down

The rod is textured along its whole length, so it never goes dark. Every ridge takes a small highlight from the stone above it and the fixture stays lit from cap to base — a torch has a handle you can see, not a shade floating on a bracket.

03

The backplate holds it off the wall

A ridged plate catches the rod at mid-height and stands it clear of the surface, so a shadow falls behind it. That gap is what stops the piece reading as flat — the torch looks held to the wall rather than printed on it.

Three parts, one line. The eye starts at the light and travels the whole 22 inches down.
